Manchester Sexual Assault Defense Attorneys

At Law Offices of Burch, Morrison, & Stewart, we thoroughly investigate the scene of the alleged rape, as well as the events leading up to the event in question to uncover new evidence, identify and interview eyewitnesses and gather information about the alleged victim. We often use private investigators to evaluate the alleged victim’s background and identify any motives he or she may have to make false allegations against you.

Juries do not always properly evaluate and weigh evidence. If the prosecution’s evidence is tainted, we fight to make that evidence inadmissible, to keep it out of court and away from juries. We also attack the credibility of the prosecution’s evidence to undermine its position and break apart its case.

Protect Your Freedom. Contact Law Offices of Burch, Morrison, & Stewart

In Tennessee, rape is a felony. Penalties include fines up to $25,000 and up to 30 years in prison. Aggravated rape carries more severe penalties, including fines up to $50,000 and up to 60 years in prison.

Even after you serve your time, you will be tracked through Tennessee’s sex offender registry. As a convicted rapist, you will be required to report annually. If you were convicted of a violent sex offense — such as aggravated rape — you will be forced to report quarterly. Any time you move, change jobs or enroll in school, you will be required to report in person to your local police department or sheriff’s office within 48 hours.

At Law Offices of Burch, Morrison, & Stewart, we do everything in our power to get your charges reduced or dismissed, protect your freedom, and prevent a life full of public scrutiny, social shame and sex offender reporting requirements.
